STATUTE OF SLOVAK UNION OF ANTIFASCIST FIGHTERS
(SUAF)
(Approved on the 13th SUAF Convention on the 16-17.08.2006 in
Trenčín)
Slovak Union of Antifascist Fighters (further on only
SUAF) is an association operating in Slovak Republic (further on SR) and is a
legal successor after Czechoslovak Union of Antifascist Fighters in SR,
associating Slovak citizens and people participating in Slovak National Uprising
(during the Second World War) against fascist, for democracy and social justice,
people who agree with its principals and aims.
MISSION AND AIMS OF SUAF
1. To promote democratic and human
message from fights for national freedom starting with the group of Ľudovít Štúr
and ending in Slovak National Uprising (further only SNU).
2. To condemn any
attempts to dishonor Slovak National Uprising and to change results of Second
World War.
3. To protect the truth about the history of fights against
fascist and for national freedom.
4. Working closely with Government of SR on
every level especially when organizing celebrations of anniversaries of people
who died during the SNU and celebrations of victories during the Second World
War.
5. To preserve and maintain all memorials dedicated to heroes who died
fighting fascist and not to allow any removals of those.
6. To make
relationships with associations like ours, in SR and abroad.
7. To condemn
and fight against extremists which are promoting nationalism and racism.
8.
To ensure social and health well being of people who fought in Second World
War.
MEMBERSHIP IN SUAF. RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF EVERY MEMBER
1.
Member of SUAF can be:
a) Slovak citizens, people who participated in SNU
1938-1945, people who suffered political, racial or religious injustice and
their families.
b) Slovak citizens, who agree with statute of SUAF, are over
18 years old and would like to preserve message from SNU.
c) Other foreign
citizens who fit in the categories above, after agreement of board of
members.
d) Membership of SUAF is starting with the day of handing the
registration form and agreement of the board of members.
The member of SUAF
will hand a membership card after the payment of membership fees during the
membership meeting.
2. Members of SUAF have got rights:
a) To vote and to
be voted to all functions in SUAF, to attend all events and to make suggestions
about any changes or improvements.
b) To ask for help with claiming
compensations or any other help.
c) To invited to all meetings.
d) To
attend the meetings according to individual personal needs.
3. Duties of SUAF
members:
a) To be a member of one of our groups, clubs or
organizations.
b) To respect statute of SUAF and to do own duties which are
establish during member meetings.
c) To pay on time and fully the membership
fees and to attend meeting of individual groups or clubs.
d) If voted to any
of the functions within organizations, to fulfill all duties respectfully.
e)
To promote SUAF and its work, to gain new members especially amongst young
generation.
f) To inform board of member of any changes of address or change
of individual group or club.
4. Termination of membership:
a) A member of
SUAF can ask for termination of the membership only for serious reasons or when
it is required by law. It can be done by written form. Organization has got
right to discontinue membership in the case individual has seriously broken the
law. The membership card has to be returned to individuals own group or
club.
b) A member of SUAF acts deliberately against the principals and
statute of SUAF, organization might to terminate membership.
5. Membership is
discontinued automatically, when:
a) A member handed written resignation from
the organization
b) With the death of a member.
c) With the
discontinuation because serious reasons agreed by board of members.
d) By not
paying membership fees for period longer than 2 years.
Decision about
finalizations of membership would be done in written form and individual got the
right to appeal against this within 30 days from that day of receiving the
letter.
6 Valuing the members of SUAF:
6.1. For valuable, long term
service to SUAF a member can be awarded after decision of board of members
with:
a) Receiving a title.
b) Receiving a medal.
6.2. People who
participated in the fights for national freedom and against fascist could be
nominated by board of members:
a) To president of Slovak Republic.
- for
receiving a national medal.
- for receiving a general status.
b) To
Minister of Defense of SR.
- for promotion to a higher
status.
